About Us:
OUR ETHOS:
Grow - We aim to help children progress, not just in dance skills but in important life skills such as teamwork, self-confidence and creativity, while building friendships.
Smile - We aim to make children happy. Providing an encouraging atmosphere allows your child to progress at their own pace, while most importantly having fun.
Shine - We aim to provide every child time to shine and express their developing personality during class and performances.
Having over 6 years dance teaching experience working at many dance schools,
I have prepared students for exams and have choregraphed show dances for a
range of performances.
As a registered chaperone I have an Enhanced DBS, Pediatric First Aid training,
First Aid at Work training and Safeguarding training.
Kate Birch - Principal
" I am 24 years old and started
dancing aged 4. I quickly fell in love
with dance and always dreamt of
owning my own dance school to
inspire others. "
I graduated Preston's College Dance in 2021
where I gained a first class BA Hons Degree
in Dance Performance, Teaching and Choreography, along with my teaching qualifications through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) in Imperial Ballet, Tap, Modern and National (World Dance).
I also trained to become a registered ballet teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and have certified in Pre-school and Module 1 Acro Dance with Acrobatic Arts.
Ag - Our Volunteer
Ag is our friendly volunteer, and also my gran!
She helps in the waiting area making sure the children are happy and ready for class. She loves chatting to the children and their parents.
Ag will be the first face you see when arriving for class, and she will have pencils and paper ready for drawing if your child arrives early for class.
Ag has an Enhanced DBS.
- Modern for younger children works on encouraging fundamental motor skills, while developing imagination and expression through stories and themes.
- As children mature, the syllabus develops with key movements such as kicks, turns and leaps being taught in exciting combinations.
- modern Jazz
- Tap dance develops rhythm, fast footwork and co-ordination. The wonderful aspect of tap is that it can enhance the percussion in a piece of music or even be the music!
- TAP DAnce
- Ballet is one of the most disciplined forms of dance that focuses on posture, control, strength and flexibility. Ballet classes at Birch Beam include all these elements, however we teach them in a fun way through the use of props, games and exercises that build up gradually to provide a sense of achievement.
- Ballet
- Is your child constantly doing cartwheels around the house? Well this class would be great for them!
- Acrobatic Dance incorporates gymnastic movements such as cartwheels and forward walkovers with dance movements and transitions.
- The 5 areas focused on in class are Strength, Flexibility, Balance, Limbering, and Tumbling.
- Acro dance
